We have a long history of carrying the wonderful 100% wool blankets from Indigofera. This latest with artist Björn Atldax is a truly impressive achievement. A pair of 3D glasses are provided with each blanket to really appreciate the artwork involved and bring the Mixtec mosaic skull to life.
To quote Wikipedia "Anaglyph 3D is the stereoscopic 3D effect achieved by means of encoding each eye's image using filters of different colours, typically cyan and red. Anaglyph 3D images contain two differently filtered coloured images, one for each eye. When viewed through the glasses each of the two images reaches the eye it is intended for, revealing an integrated stereoscopic image. The visual cortex of the brain fuses this into the perception of a three-dimenional scene or composition"
The Mixtec mosaic skull is believed to represent the god Tezcatlipoca, or “Smoking Mirror”. One of the four powerful creator deitics who were important gods in the Mexica pantheon.Tezcatlipoca is often depicted with obsidian mirrors at the head and is an adversary to Quetzalcoatl. The name comes from the word “tezapoctli” meaning “shining smoke”.
"A blanket from Indigofera is, besides a beloved friend that will age and gain patina by years of cuddling, a handcrafted design piece that proves the old saying that Quality Never Goes Out Of Style"
