The Haori was traditionally worn over a kimono as an elegant wrap with no overlapping front panels. The style dates back to the Middle Ages or Sengoku period in Japan and has a rich cultural history. It was a men only garment until the 20th century by which time it became fashionable for women as well as men to wear the jacket. FDMTL's mssion to "create clothing of sentimental value" is encapsulated by this Haori.
